FAQs
To register your child for our Entrance Examination and/or Music Tests (this is NOT an application to the School) you should:-
- Read our Determined Admission Arrangements.
- Ensure that your Child’s permanent address is within one of the Local Priority Areas (LPAs) detailed below. Only children living within our listed LPAs are invited to sit our tests.
- Ensure your child is available for the dates of the tests – see Key Dates.
- Complete and submit the online Test Registration Form - available on this page from May 8th.
Test results will be sent to you before the deadline for submitting your Local Authority Common Application Form as detailed in our Key Dates. This information is intended to help you decide whether you wish to make an application to the school.
If you wish to make an application for a place at the School (this includes sibling, locality, Looked After Children) etc) you will need to:-
- Read our Determined Admission Arrangements
- Include Dame Alice Owen’s School as one of your preferences when you submit your Common Application Form (CAF) to your home Local Authority
If applying as a sibling of a past student email our Admissions Department to advise them – admissions@damealiceowens.herts.sch.uk. Current sibling applications do not need to contact us as this information will be passed on via the CAF.
There is no longer a requirement to complete a supplementary information form.

Children from outside of these areas are not eligible to be considered under these criteria and therefore cannot take our tests.
